CUMMINS ENGINE PLANT

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

When Cummins decided to expand its manufacturing capacity in 1992 by opening the Columbus Mid-Range Engine Plant, they turned to an old friend for help — Cardinal. The decision paid off. Cardinal’s combination of equipment and experienced people enabled the multimillion dollar installation to go smoothly.

In addition to installing the machining lines, Cardinal helped Cummins install their coolant filtration and chip handling equipment. Cummins wrote up a single purchase order and Cardinal’s proven team of installation experts ensured that every facet of the installation was a success.
Six head indexing turret machining station installed by Cardinal on a fast track retool of the cylinder block machining system. The installation of these modular units required precision alignment and leveling.
Cardinal installed the major equipment in the Cummins QA/QC Laboratory and Test Room.
